MOnTAGE IT!: Artist and little things

My artist is G Orwell who is a writer writing 1984 and Animal Farm. I can feel the darkness coming from his words. Totalitarianism is the main theme of his novel that one powerful evil government corrupts people's mind. To show that, I set up very small windows and one narrow door. It's like a endless depth lead to the darkness. Once you come in, you will be chewed and consumed by the darkness (Creepy).

Those are the things I found online and putted in my motage. I haven't put much people in the motage because in close range these people looks pretty unreal. I only set a few of them to show how big this building is.

I did not actually use this door. I kept the frame instead and put a stair inside of it.

MOnTAGE IT!: Week 3

We got the photos, and we got the model. So let's start to motage!
First attempt of fitting the model into the site was slow and painful. The only thing I know of photoshop is crop and cut things off. If the shadow or the perspective went wrong, all I can do was grab my camera and try to take another photo of my model.

Thanks to my roommates' help and online tutorials, I learned how to adjust the brightness and free transform. So here is my second motage.

The surrounding is way too dark for anything to happen. Also the scale is wrong. But at least I figured how to work with photoshop a bit better.

MOTAnGE IT!: Out for some photos

After week 2 class, I've taken some photos later on that day around the campus. These are the good ones that I thought they would work with my models.

The light effect at night of campus is amazing.

This photo is taken at dawn another day. We can actually see the sun was coming down every minute. Just few hours later, the sky was fading into darkness.

MOnTAGE IT!: WEEK2 Photoshop

This is my second week work. My photoshop skill was still improving. As you can see there is no shadows beneath the model and the prospective is sort of weird. To match the scale of these small houses, I reduced the size of the model comparing with the site. However, that makes the building looks too small.

MOnTAGE IT!: First week model making

This is the model I made for the first week take home task. I setted up a tiny little 'black corner' in my room for me to take photos. I tried to shot photos from different angle for better perspective.

Firstly I let the model lie on the ground. After taking the advice of tutor,I decided to put it another way.

Also, I used different angle of light to create some effect.

For these two above, because on one of my backgrounds the light is coming from below, so I put the light beneath the model to match it.
